Catoctin Wildlife Preserve and Zoo is open seasonally each year, with hours changing as warm summer weather allows more and more of our exotic animals to enjoy Maryland’s outdoor environment.
March: Starting March 20th the Zoo will be Open Daily Weather Permitting, 10-4, last admission at 3 pm
April: Daily, 10 am – 5 pm
Memorial Day through Labor Day: 9 am -6 pm Daily
September: Daily, 9 am – 5 pm
October: Daily, 10 am – 5 pm
November: Weekends only Weather Permitting, 10 am – 4 pm, last admission at 3 pm.
Don’t you just love Mother Earth? Celebrate the amazing diversity of our planet with games, information and activity stations. Make a bird feeder, learn what plants attract butterflies, get a new appreciation for bats and go on a scavenger hunt.
Hey kids! Can you leap like a lemur, kick like a donkey or stretch like a giraffe? Find out at the Catoctin Wildlife Preserve and Zoo’s 3rd annual Wild Walk and Fitness Safari on Saturday, May 4th from noon-3 and win prizes and a FREE pass to visit the zoo again.
Try various fitness activities spread out along a 1k path, while exploring the zoo’s 25- acre wooded park. Participants will **ALSO** enjoy 600 animals from 6 continents of the world, a wildlife stage presentation and keeper encounters as well as other kid-friendly activities.
