July – October 2013
A special day for our Members to be treated like the VIPs they are. VIP area with animal visitors and light refreshments.
VIP tent with refreshments and animal encounters with some of our educational animals. Any questions regarding their adopted animal can be answered for them.
The heaviest alligator snapping turtle weighs 250 pounds, and the longest reticulated python measures 33 feet. How do the reptiles at Catoctin Wildlife Preserve and Zoo compare? Come see for yourself when we bring out our giants.
THERE ARE FASHION ANIMALS … and then there is Zoo-La-La, an event that combines models parading the latest must-have clothes from local stores and boutiques along with encounters with some of the animals from the Catoctin Wildlife Preserve and Zoo. Throw in some music, food and fun and it will be a night everyone will be talking about as support is raised for the non-profit preserve and zoo located on U.S. 15 near Thurmont.
Zoo-La-La is from 7-10 p.m., Saturday, Sept. 7, at The Faux School on Carroll Street in downtown Frederick. Two parking decks are within easy walking distance. Tickets are $35, and are available at the door.
For the party animal there will be a DJ, beer, wine and a signature Zoo-La-La cocktail, plus an auction of various prizes ranging from zoo safari packages, fashions with a wildlife vibe, to items such as a gift certificate from a local veterinarian and cuddly stuffed toy animals. The food created by local caterers will also be based on the animal kingdom: Just for starters think chocolate “moose” cake, pigs-in-a-blanket and special animal confections from The Perfect Truffle.
The evening will also include amazing and interesting facts about animals and our local zoo, and a special appearance by the Frederick Divas who recently caused a stir at First Saturday in downtown Frederick.
Come be a fash-ZOO-nista!
