Wildlife Walk and Fitness Safari!

Hey, kids! Can you leap like a lemur, flutter like a butterfly and kick like a donkey? Find out at the Catoctin Wildlife Preserve and Zoo’s second annual Wildlife Walk and Fitness Safari on Saturday, May 26 from 12-4pm.

This is your chance to learn how to move like the animals at the Catoctin Wildlife Preserve and Zoo!  Let’s warm up those muscles and stretch like a giraffe, crawl like a lizard and leap like a lemur! While exploring the zoo’s 25 acre wooded park, participants will enjoy 600 animals from 6 continents of the world, a wildlife stage presentation, alligator bayou and keeper encounters. Try to crawl, climb, jump, kick and run like the animals in 8 fitness activities.

All children who complete the 1K circuit will win a free pass to be used later in the summer. Gather your friends into a team and you all might win adoption rights for the animal of your choice. The team, class, or organization with the most participants will receive a full color adoption packet and a plaque —  up to a $1000.00 value!

As our membership grows, so does the awareness and concern we have for animal and environmental conservation.  (more…)
