Adopt an Animal

Give Yourself or Someone You Love The Gift of Being a Zoo Parent!

You can show your support for animals by  becoming a “ZooParent” and adopting an animal.  Adopting an animal contributes to the daily care for that animal for one year. This includes food, housing, veterinary care, enrichment, medication and special treats

Additionally, your sponsorship aids in public education and habitat conservation efforts, so that these beautiful and   unique animals may never disappear   from our earth.

Adopt an Animal!

Home to more than 1100 animal that represent 319 species not including amphibians, fish and invertebrates, the Catoctin Wildlife Preserve and Zoo spends more than $100,000 a year for food from hay to hamburgers to feed all of its wild residents. You can “adopt” one of the Zoo’s animals to contribute to its care and feeding for one full year.

By adopting an animal through this program, you not only help in the care and feeding of that animal, but also support important education and conservation programs at the Catoctin Zoo. Some of the world wide conservation projects the Catoctin Wildlife Preserve and Zoo support include field research on amphibians in Costa Rica, organizations like Vital Ground Grizzly Bear, Florida’s primate Capuchin Monkey rescue sanctuary, Jungle Friends, The Maryland Amphibian Reptile Rescue, Maryland Department of Natural Resources, and Ecosystem System Survival Adopt an Acre Program. With your help, the CWPZoo can continue to aid wild creatures and their habitats all over the world.

Choose from one of the many levels of support and any of CWPZoo’s wonderful animals available for adoption. Get the inside scoop on your animal’s life story, favorite treats, and more! Your adoption will last one full year.
